President Erdoğan: "We will continue our efforts to establish peace, stability, and security in our region with the aim of a strong Türkiye on the ground and at the table. While resolutely defending the rights obtained through the Treaty of Lausanne, we will strengthen our country's gains through new initiatives."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message on the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Lausanne Peace Treaty.
Recalling that today is the 100th anniversary of the Lausanne Peace Treaty, which represents one of the turning points in our history, President Erdoğan stated that our honourable nation's will for full independence strongly manifested itself during the negotiations and signing of the Lausanne Peace Treaty.
President Erdoğan noted that this will, which led the Turkish War of Independence to victory despite all poverty and impossibilities, also guides and illuminates the way today and gives determination to fight against difficulties, and cited the state and nation's display of solidarity after the February 6 earthquakes as the most recent and concrete example of this.
President Erdoğan emphasised that the most important source of strength and inspiration for the vision of the Century of Türkiye, which they began to build on the night of May 28th, is the nation's desire to live with dignity, freedom, and a proud head in its own land:
"As members of a nation that has repelled many attacks, overcome many obstacles, and endured many betrayals over a glorious history of thousands of years, I hope we will work together to make the Century of Türkiye a reality." We will continue our efforts to establish peace, stability and security in our region with the goal of a strong Türkiye on the ground and at the table. While resolutely defending the rights obtained through the Treaty of Lausanne, we will strengthen our country's gains through new initiatives. On the 100th anniversary of the Lausanne Peace Treaty, I commemorate with mercy the founder of our Republic, Ghazi Mustafa Kemal, his comrades in arms, and all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our independence and future. I respectfully commemorate the heroes who were honored as veterans, and may Allah make Türkiye stand forever."
