President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated the National Women's Goalball Team, which won the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
President Erdoğan spoke by phone with the National Team, which won the gold medal at the Paralympic Games for the second time in a row, via the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, who was in Tokyo.
Congratulating the national athletes, President Erdoğan said, "You have brought us tremendous joy. You have made us proud, particularly with your victory against the United States. I wish you continued success in the future."
Sevda Altunoluk, the top scorer of the games, said, "We made a promise. We stated that we would bring the gold medal to our country. We worked hard for this and, thanks be to Allah, we achieved it. Thank you very much."
