President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held talks with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres and 21 other world leaders during his busy Ramadan schedule.
President Erdoğan conducted intense diplomacy on a number of subjects during Ramadan.
Holding talks with Guterres four times, including one reception, thrice with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, twice with President Isaac Herzog of Israel and Chancellor Karl Nehammer of Austria, and once with other leaders, President Erdoğan spoke over the phone with 17 country leaders on Eid al-Fitr and exchanged Eid greetings.
President Erdoğan addressed a variety of topics with the country leaders, particularly bilateral relations, the Russia-Ukraine war, and regional issues.
During the month of Ramadan, President Erdoğan, who first spoke by phone with President Vladimir Putin of Russia and President Isaac Herzog of Israel on April 1, addressed bilateral relations and regional developments during his talks with President Rumen Radev of Bulgaria, President Sauli Niinistö of Finland, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Aleksandar Vucic of Serbia and Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany on April 4.
The following day, President Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Borut Pahor of Slovenia, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan, and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of Hungary.
On April 7, President Erdoğan had a phone call with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan to discuss regional issues, particularly the two countries' relations and the Russia-Ukraine war.
President Erdoğan spoke by phone with Chancellor Karl Nehammer of Austria on April 10, Pakistan's newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on April 12, and Chancellor Karl Nehammer of Austria once more on April 14.
President Erdoğan received Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (IKRG) on April 15 at the Dolmabahçe Working Office.
President Erdoğan paid a visit to Saudi Arabia
In response to Israel's continuous violations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, President Erdoğan conducted intense diplomacy on April 17-19 in order to stop Israeli attacks on the occupied city of al-Quds and the Al-Aqsa Mosque
On April 17, President Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine and UN Secretary-General António Guterres, followed by King Abdullah II of Jordan on April 18 and President Isaac Herzog of Israel on April 19, with whom he also spoke on the eve of Ramadan.
After speaking with Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands on April 22 and President Volodymyr Zelenskiy of Ukraine on April 24, President Erdoğan received UN Secretary-General António Guterres at the Presidential Complex on April 25. President Erdoğan also spoke by phone with Guterres two days after the reception.
Stating in his phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 26 that the continuation of the positive momentum achieved in the Istanbul talks to pave the way for the peace between Russia and Ukraine was in the interest of everyone, President Erdoğan held his third meeting with Putin during Ramadan on April 28. In the Erdoğan-Putin meeting, the developments regarding the war in Ukraine, as well as the exchange between Russia and the USA in Türkiye, were addressed.
President Erdoğan visited Saudi Arabia on April 28 at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud of Saudi Arabia.
As part of the two-day visit, the relations between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia were reviewed, and potential areas to develop cooperation were discussed. During the meetings, they also exchanged views on regional and international issues as well as bilateral relations.
In addition to the meeting with King Salman, President Erdoğan met with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and travelled from Jeddah to Mecca with ministers accompanying him to perform Umrah.
President Erdoğan held his fourth meeting in Ramadan with UN Secretary General Guterres on the phone on April 30. President Erdoğan also spoke on the phone with the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

On the first day of Eid-al Fitr, President Erdoğan held separate phone calls with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Ersin Tatar of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi of Iran, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Kuwait, President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister Najib Mikati of Lebanon, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan and Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi of Iraq.
Also, President Isaac Herzog of Israel called President Erdoğan on the phone and congratulated him on Eid al-Fitr.
President Erdoğan continued his phone calls with leaders on the second day of Eid al-Fitr.
On the second day of Eid al-Fitr, President Erdoğan held phone calls with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan and President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan. On the third day of Eid al-Fitr, President Erdoğan held phone calls with President Joko Widodo of Indonesia and Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh of the Government of National Unity of Libya.
During the calls, President Erdoğan and the leaders exchanged their greetings on the Eid.
