President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a phone call with President Adama Barrow of Gambia.
The call addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Gambia, Israel's attacks on Palestine and the agenda of the 15th Islamic Summit to be held in Gambia.
During the call, President Erdoğan stated that it is important for the Islamic world to act in unity to stop Israel's attacks on Gaza and ensure compliance with the United Nations resolutions.
Conveying to Barrow his wish that the negotiations and decisions to be taken at the Islamic Summit will be auspicious, President Erdoğan stated that Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan will represent Türkiye at the summit.
President Erdoğan also noted during the call that joint steps to improve relations between Türkiye and Gambia could be taken in the coming period.
