President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has issued a message on the occasion of the 106th anniversary of the Çanakkale Land Battles.
Commemorating the martyrs, veterans and all heroes who defended their homeland with mercy, President Erdoğan emphasized that the "Spirit of Çanakkale", which brought the epic struggle for independence of the nation that had lived free since eternity to victory, is a monumental legacy to future generations.
In his message, President Erdoğan stated the following
"Our nation has demonstrated once again that it would stand against any invasion attempt in an all-out mobilization even under the most severe circumstances and fight for the sake of its homeland and its flag at the cost of their own lives. We will continue to defend the rights and sacredness of our nation, whose history is full of glorious victories, to keep the Spirit of Çanakkale alive, and carry our country to a much stronger future with determination. The duty of the future generations is to protect the message of independence and the future engraved on stone, land and sea in Çanakkale with blood, life, determination and courage. I once again remember with respect all our heroes, first and foremost Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who waged a great struggle in Çanakkale, and salute all our citizens wholeheartedly."
