President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited the grave of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of Azerbaijan, as well as the Turkish and Azerbaijani martyrs' cemetery.
Following his re-election, President Erdoğan travelled to Azerbaijan after the TRNC and visited the Alley of Honour in Baku, which contains the graves of Heydar Aliyev and his wife.
After laying a wreath at Heydar Aliyev's mausoleum, President Erdoğan then placed flowers on the grave of Aliyev's wife, Zarife Aliyeva.
President Erdoğan also laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame Memorial located at Martyrs' Lane in Baku, where the martyrs of January 20 rest.
President Erdoğan also visited the Baku Turkish Martyrs' Cemetery, where he laid a wreath at the memorial and individual carnations on each of the martyrs' graves.
