President Erdoğan visits Alija Izetbegovic’s tomb

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid a visit to the tomb of Alija Izetbegovic, the first President of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Upon attending a series of events in Sarajevo during the day, President Erdoğan paid a visit to the Martyrs' Cemetery Kovaci. After leaving flowers at the Monument to the Unknown Hero, President Erdoğan walked to the tomb of Izetbegovic. 

President Erdoğan joined President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş in prayer after having laid flowers at the tomb of Izetbegovic.

President Erdoğan was accompanied to the tomb by the Chairman Šefik Džaferović of the Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Collegium Member Bakir Izetbegović of the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Turkish delegation.

Following his visit to the martyrs' cemetery, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan headed to the new building of the Islamic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Riyaset), where he spoke with those who expressed admiration and posed for photographs.
