President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited the region where search and rescue efforts continue following the earthquake in İzmir.
After the press conference at the crisis centre in Bornova district, President Erdoğan moved to Bayraklı district, where the earthquake caused the greatest damage.
Entering the wreckage area of the collapsed Rıza Bey Apartment in Mansuroğlu Neighbourhood, President Erdoğan, Minister of Environment and Urbanization Murat Kurum, received information about the efforts from AFAD President Mehmet Güllüoğlu and officials.
President Erdoğan was accompanied by Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli and AK Party İzmir MP Binali Yıldırım along with the officials from the institutions that have been carrying out the search and rescue operations.
Some of the citizens demonstrated their affection for President Erdoğan while he was leaving the area.
