President Erdoğan, US President Trump talk over phone

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Donald J. Trump of the United States.

The leaders discussed Türkiye–U.S. bilateral relations, as well as regional and global developments.

President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye closely follows developments in Syria and that Syria’s unity, solidarity, and territorial integrity are important for Türkiye.

The call also addressed the fight against DAESH and the situation of DAESH members in prisons in Syria.

President Erdoğan emphasised that a developed, terror-free, and peaceful Syria, with all its elements, would also contribute to regional stability.

Stressing that efforts to establish peace in Gaza are ongoing, President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye will continue to act in coordination with the U.S. on this matter.

President Erdoğan thanked U.S. President Trump for the invitation to the Gaza Board of Peace.
