President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan travelled to Uzbekistan at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, where he would pay an official visit on March 29-30.
President Erdoğan arrived at Atatürk Airport after speaking to Russian and Ukrainian delegates who came together for negotiations at the Presidential Working Office in Dolmabahçe.
President Erdoğan, who saluted the guard of honour on the apron, was bid farewell by Vice President Fuat Oktay, Deputy Governor of İstanbul Mehmet Ali Özyiğit and AK Party İstanbul Provincial Chairman Osman Nuri Kabaktepe.
President Erdoğan is accompanied to Tashkent by First Lady Emine Erdoğan, as well as Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdağ, Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar, Minister of Labour and Social Security Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca, Minister of Trade Mehmet Muş and Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun.
As part of the visit, the 2nd Meeting of Türkiye-Uzbekistan High Level Strategic Cooperation Council will be held.
At the Council Meeting, which will be held in Tashkent with the participation of relevant ministers and under the co-chairmanship of President Erdoğan and President Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, all aspects of the Türkiye-Uzbekistan relations, which are at the level of strategic partnership, will be addressed, and steps to further deepen the cooperation between the two countries will be discussed.
During the talks, views will be exchanged regarding regional and international issues as well as bilateral relations.
Additionally, various contracts and agreements will be signed during the Council Meeting, which will significantly contribute to the contractual basis of Türkiye-Uzbekistan relations.
