The inauguration ceremony of the Gemlik Facility, where mass production of Togg, one of Türkiye's vision projects, would take place, began with the arrival of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The countdown for the mass production of Togg, whose vehicle previews were introduced by President Erdoğan on December 27, 2019, and factory construction started on July 18, 2020, has ended.
The inauguration ceremony of the Gemlik Facility that will house the mass production of Togg, which set out on its journey with the goal of developing a global brand with 100% Turkish intellectual and industrial property rights, and becoming the core of the Turkish mobility ecosystem, has begun.
The ceremony, where President Erdoğan, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, and Togg Top Manager (CEO) M. Gürcan Karakaş will be speaking, is receiving wide attention from the local and international media.
Citizens from Bursa and the surrounding provinces, who came to the vicinity of the Togg Gemlik Facility with their own means, expressed their affection to President Erdoğan.
The guests who wished to witness the inauguration of the Togg Gemlik Facility, which was completed in a short time of about two years, were guided to the area by passing through turnstiles several hours before the ceremony.
Preparations for the inauguration of the Gemlik Facility, where the mass production of Togg will take place, were completed before the ceremony. "Togg" direction signs were placed by the teams from the General Directorate of Highways at the junctions throughout the Bursa-Yalova highway via which the facility is accessed.
The landscape on the roads and intersections of the facility, which is five kilometres from the highway, was designed to resemble Togg's logo.
President Erdoğan toured the Gemlik Facility, where the Togg automobiles would be mass-produced.
During the visit, President Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan had a souvenir photo taken with "Five Brave Fellows" (five stakeholders of the consortium that will produce Togg automobiles) and 1,500 facility workers.
While the souvenir photo was being taken in front of the billboard that read, "Long Live the Republic," the presence of six Togg automobiles of varying colours caught attention.
President Erdoğan inspected the automobile body and assembly division during his facility tour.
Wearing coats emblazoned with the Togg logo, the First Couple then test-drove a Togg automobile.
