President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will host heads of state and government at the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit.
On the occasion of the Ankara Summit on 7–8 July, President Erdoğan will meet with 32 heads of state and government at the Presidential Complex.
President Erdoğan will meet with leaders including President Donald Trump of the USA, President Emmanuel Macron of France, President Alexander Stubb of Finland, President Peter Pellegrini of Slovakia, Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the United Kingdom, Chancellor Friedrich Merz of Germany, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy, Prime Minister Mark Carney of Canada, Prime Minister Edi Rama of Albania, Prime Minister Rumen Radev of Bulgaria, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić of Montenegro, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, and European Council President António Costa.
On 7 July, President Erdoğan is expected to hold a tête-à-tête and a joint press conference with President Trump of the USA.
On 7 July, President Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan will host a dinner at the Presidential Complex in honour of heads of state and government, as well as their spouses. On 8 July, President Erdoğan will welcome the leaders upon their arrival at the venue and pose for a family photo. Following NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte's opening remarks, President Erdoğan and other leaders will address the gathering.
Subsequent to the meeting, President Erdoğan, US President Trump, and several other leaders will hold individual press conferences in the Beştepe Nation's Exhibition Hall.
At the summit, which will assess the steps taken to expand defence investments and the Alliance’s efforts in deterrence and defence from a 360-degree perspective, leaders will engage in strategic discussions regarding the threats, risks, and challenges facing the Euro-Atlantic region.
In addition to the 32 heads of state and government of NATO member nations, nearly 100 ministers, numerous senior diplomats, representatives of international organisations, and guests will attend the summit, which will discuss the situation in Ukraine and recent developments on the Alliance's southern flank.
