President Erdoğan: “The Sakarya Victory is a sign that the fate of those who still cannot tolerate our existence and pursue whims will be disappointed again.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, “The Sakarya Victory is a sign that the fate of those who still cannot tolerate our existence and pursue whims will be disappointed again”.

In the message issued on the anniversary of the September 13 Sakarya Victory, Erdoğan emphasized that the Sakarya Pitched Battle, one of the most important battles in Turkish history, was an important stage in the glorious struggle of the nation against the invaders to protect their homeland and independence.

Erdoğan underlined that the Victory of the Sakarya Pitched Battle increased the power and hope of the nation in the struggle for independence, enhanced the recognition of the Assembly in the international arena, and paved the way to the final victory in the War of Independence.

Emphasizing that the unity, solidarity, determination, and heroism exhibited in this battle are still guiding the nation today, Erdoğan noted the following in his message:

“The Victory of Sakarya is also a sign that the fates of those who are still unable to tolerate our existence, no matter where they are, and pursue whims will be disappointed.
With spirit and determination in the national struggle, our nation that has a history full of great victories will show the whole world today and tomorrow, as it has yesterday, that it will not accept any imposition, and that it will protect its rights and interests everywhere and under all conditions. With the strength we derive from our past, we continue to work resolutely in line with our goals to eternize our state and leave better tomorrows to new generations.

On this occasion, I wish Allah’s mercy upon all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect our beloved homeland, our independence, and our future. I commemorate all the heroes of the War of Independence, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal, with mercy and gratitude on the anniversary of the Sakarya Victory, and greet my citizens with my heartfelt feelings.”
