President Erdoğan, who is in the United States to attend the 77th Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, took a stroll through New York's Central Park.
Türkiye's Ambassador to Washington, Hasan Murat Mercan, and Türkiye's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Feridun Sinirlioğlu, accompanied President Erdoğan during his walk.
President Erdoğan encountered the interest of those in the park during his walk, chatted with them and had their photos taken. While he was sitting on a bench, someone approached him and thanked him for his role in the Ukraine crisis, stating:
"Thank you so much for the grain deal and the drones you have supplied. This strengthens NATO. We greatly appreciate it."
A tourist from Thailand stated that he visited Istanbul and Cappadocia and that Türkiye was the greatest destination he had ever been to, adding that he was privileged to have met President Erdoğan.
In addition, President Erdoğan advised the couple who approached him not to smoke.
Today, President Erdoğan will meet with representatives of Turkish non-governmental organisations in the US and attend a dinner hosted by the Turkish-American National Steering Committee.
