President Recep Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan and conveyed his congratulations to Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his election as the new president of Turkmenistan.
According to a statement, the call addressed regional issues as well as steps to enhance bilateral relations.

Expressing his belief that Turkmenistan, which had undertaken an exemplary development initiative during President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s term, would further advance its achievements, President Erdoğan said that the relations between the two countries, which drew their strength from a shared history and culture, would grow stronger in the new period.
