President Erdoğan: "We now have a better understanding of why the imperialist powers provided the separatist organisation and its extensions in Syria with so many weapons, as well as why they want to encircle our country with a corridor of terrorism."
In a post he shared on social media, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan noted that yesterday they announced the discovery of the largest oil reserve in the history of the Republic in Cudi, Gabar.
President Erdoğan said, "We no longer receive bad news that rips our hearts out, but rather we receive good news from the mountains where terrorists once roamed," adding that Türkiye is located in a strategically significant region with the world's largest oil reserves but has been unable to benefit from the wealth of this geography despite oil and gas flowing right next to it for decades.
Pointing out that in the book "Petrol Fırtınası (Oil Storm)" by the late Raif Karadağ, which was published many years ago, the reasons why Türkiye was denied access to these resources were explained boldly, President Erdoğan noted:
"When we look at what we have accomplished so far, we can clearly see the reasons for the daggers stabbed in Türkiye's back, from separatist terrorism to coups and street incidents. It turns out that terrorist organisations, political instability, and global corporations have tied our hands and feet to prevent oil extraction from our lands... We now have a better understanding of why the imperialist powers provided the separatist organisation and its extensions in Syria with so many weapons, as well as why they want to encircle our country with a corridor of terrorism. We now have a much better understanding of why, for no apparent reason, some are targeting UAVs and UCAVs, our most important weapon in the fight against terrorism, as well as the companies that manufacture them. All this is merely a ploy by those seeking to keep Türkiye out of the energy race. Through our initiatives, we are spoiling this game, this dirty plot. By eliminating the leaders of terrorist organisations within and beyond our borders, we free our nation from its shackles. We will defeat all those who would prevent us from exploiting our underground and surface riches and surmount every obstacle. Inshallah, we will achieve this for you and with you."
