President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared a video on his Twitter account about the Hagia Sophia, which will be reopened to worship on July 24.
The video Erdoğan shared by using the remarks “Let the winds blow in the dome of your freedom. You are ours from all eternity, we are yours.”, includes the images of the Hagia Sophia accompanied by the lyrics and composition of Yücel Arzen.
The lyrics of the soundtrack performed in Turkish, Kyrgyz, Bosnian, Albanian, Azerbaijani, Kurdish, Swahili (African), Arabic and Bengali are as follows:
“Hagia Sophia; we hide behind your shadow (celestial dome) from the storm, the thunderstorm, the night and the burning heat of the sun. Hagia Sophia, we will stand in front of you without embarrassment (shame) and you will be proud of the children of Fatih. Hagia Sophia, you are not a stone and we scream and say your name to the world. ‘We exist and now we are here’. There is no God worthy of worship except Allah and Hz. Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah. (La ilahe illallah Muhammeden Resalullah). Hey Hagia Sophia, you are my dear from time immemorial, You are the sorrow of my silent years in need of sound, in other words, the two eyes, who do not know you, are blind for that reason, on the other hand, you are the remedy of both my right eye and my left eye. We gathered for you, the children of the mountain, desert and the sea…We, those who miss each other. We are ‘the dream of Hz. İbrahim.’ Let the sound of the grandchildren of Abyssinian Bilal echo in this place that holds and unites us together (whites and blacks..). We brought the greetings of Mecca, Medina, and Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa. The moon and sun are together under the innocent dome. We are now at the door with our bare feet stepping on the hot sands. You are our struggle, you are our strength. You are the symbol of salvation of impaired humanity. Hagia Sophia, let the winds blow in the dome of your freedom. You are ours from all eternity, we are yours.”
