President Erdoğan sends message to Turkish Capital Markets Summit

President Erdoğan: "As a country that has attracted a total of 255 billion dollars of international investment in the last 21 years, we will give special importance and priority to further deepening and spreading our capital markets to the grassroots in the coming period."

In his message to the 7th session of the Turkish Capital Markets Summit, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan wished that the congress, held in the second century of the Republic with the main theme of "'For Strong Türkiye, Strong Capital Markets', would be auspicious for all investors.

Emphasising that they are marching without a break on the path they set out with the goal of a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Türkiye in the centenary of the Republic, President Erdoğan recalled that they shared the Medium Term Programme, which is the road map of the Century of Türkiye, with the public and the business world at the beginning of September.

President Erdoğan noted that they have set goals that are realistic, feasible, and compatible with Türkiye's potential in all fundamental areas, from growth and trade to price stability, from financial stability to human capital and employment, from green and digital transformation to disaster management, and from public finance to business and investment environment.

President Erdoğan stated that they are confident in their ability to achieve these goals with the nation's support. He then made the following remarks:

"While eliminating the destruction caused by the earthquakes on February 6, we aim to increase employment through robust and high-quality economic growth and improve income distribution by bringing inflation back to single digits. With this approach, we plan to attract foreign direct investments to our country by further enhancing bureaucratic and legal predictability. During this time frame, we will also begin to reap the fruits of our Istanbul Financial Centre project, which we have been working on for a long time. With the Istanbul Finance Centre, we intend to transform our country into a financial hub. As a country that has attracted a total of 255 billion dollars of international investment in the last 21 years, we will give special importance and priority to further deepening and spreading our capital markets to the grassroots in the coming period. In addition to the Auto-Enrollment System, we have planned a variety of measures ranging from a secondary pension system to the expansion of public offerings and the diversification of products denominated in Turkish lira.”

President Erdoğan expressed his belief that the Turkish Capital Markets Summit, which is being organised with the participation of notable figures, will serve as a guiding light in these efforts.

President Erdoğan expressed his warm welcome to all investors who have confidence in Türkiye,  invest in the country, and believe in the promising future of the Turkish economy. He wished for the congress to be successful and extended his gratitude to those involved in organising it.
