President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasised the significance of Türkiye's long-standing relationship with its ally and friend Germany, which has political, economic, military, cultural, and humanitarian aspects.
"10th anniversary of the establishment of Turkish-German University and Central Library Opening Ceremony" was held at the university's campus in Beykoz.
At the ceremony, which started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, the message sent by President Erdoğan was read.
In his message, President Erdoğan greeted the participants and wished that the newly opened Central Library would be beneficial to the university.
Stating that the library was named after Mevlüde Genç, President Erdoğan said, "I commemorate with mercy Mevlüde Genç and the family members we lost in the 1993 Solingen disaster. I congratulate all members of the Turkish-German University, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and wish each and every one of them great success".
Touching upon friendly relations with Germany in his message, President Erdoğan concluded:
"We attach great importance to our long-standing political, economic, military, cultural, and humanitarian ties with our friend and ally Germany. We view our more than three million German citizens as a human link between our two nations. The influx of German immigrants to Türkiye and the expansion of our commercial ties are the most apparent signs of our friendship. With its five faculties, one college, and two institutes, the Turkish-German University, which carries the cooperation between the two countries into the academy, is taking decisive strides towards achieving its founding objectives. I sincerely believe that the cordial relations between Türkiye and Germany, which have always been characterised by communication, cooperation, and solidarity throughout the course of history, will now grow even stronger. I wish you the best for your tenth year in education and your central library, and I salute you with respect and affection."
"10th Anniversary of the Establishment of Turkish-German University's Celebrations" will continue tomorrow.
