President Erdoğan sends message to 3rd International Family Symposium

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a message to the 3rd International Family Symposium, organised by the İstanbul Family Foundation, with the support of the Ministry of Family and Social Services.

In his telegram to the symposium, themed "Being Family in the 21st Century" and held with Anadolu Agency (AA) as its global communication partner, President Erdoğan expressed the importance they attach, on behalf of the foundation, to efforts that prioritise the revival of the traditional Turkish family structure under the motto "Family is the foundation of civilisation."

Highlighting that academic work is being carried out across various disciplines, President Erdoğan said: "I particularly value the fact that scholars are addressing the topic under themes such as 'Being Family in a Metropolis, Family in the Face of Global Threats, Family in the Digital Age, and Family Psychology.' I believe that discussing and delving into the concept of family within the framework of today's opportunities, challenges, and conditions will guide us on the path to achieving our goal of a 'Strong Family, Strong Society.' I congratulate the board and employees of the İstanbul Family Foundation, as well as those who contributed to the organisation of the 3rd International Family Symposium, and convey my greetings to all participants and guests."

"Dynamics such as digitalisation, individualisation, and globalisation are profoundly transforming the concept of family worldwide"

First Lady Emine Erdoğan also sent a message to the symposium.

Highlighting that family is a unique and precious treasure, First Lady Emine Erdoğan stated that protecting the family institution is the assurance of social peace, prosperity and a secure future.

Emphasising that strong societies rise on the shoulders of strong families, First Lady Emine Erdoğan said:

"That is why we all have a fundamental responsibility to protect the structure of the family and to shield it from adverse external influences. Dynamics such as digitalisation, individualisation, and globalisation are profoundly transforming the concept of family worldwide. It is important to address the family, particularly in this period, to find solutions to the challenges it faces and to preserve its respected position within the social structure. I appreciate the successful work carried out by the İstanbul Family Foundation in this field since its establishment and wish it would inspire everyone. I would like to thank the esteemed participants for their valuable contributions and suggestions for solutions. I wish that the outcomes of the symposium will be auspicious for our country and all humanity."
