President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a letter to Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmaajo along with the Turkish aid consisting of medical supplies and ventilators sent to Somalia.
The letter from President Erdoğan sent to Somali President Farmaajo, along with the aid of medical supplies and ventilators, began with the remarks: “Mr. President, Distinguished Brother” and continued as follows:
“I convey my condolences on behalf of my nation and myself to all our Somali brothers and sisters who have lost their lives due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. I hope that we will overcome this challenging period as soon as possible. I strongly believe that the steps we have taken to combat the Covid-19 outbreak from the beginning will help to resolve this crisis with the least damage in our countries. I wish you success in your efforts to combat the pandemic in your country.
As I noted in our phone conversation last week, Turkey will continue to stand alongside the Somali government and its people in this regard just as it does in all matters. I hope that the medical supplies that we have sent to your country today will be added to the aid materials that we sent on 17 April 2020 and will support your fight against the pandemic. I would like to express my desire to meet you face to face in the shortest time on healthier days and to convey my wholehearted wishes for your health and happiness as well as the well-being and prosperity of your friendly and brotherly country.”
