President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan returned home from Qatar, where he visited on the occasion of FIFA World Cup 2022 opening ceremony at the invitation of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar.
The plane with President Erdoğan and his accompanying delegate on board landed at Atatürk Airport at 01.30 a.m.
President Erdoğan was welcomed at the airport by Vice President Fuat Oktay, Governor of İstanbul Ali Yerlikaya, Justice and Development (AK) Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Osman Nuri Kabaktepe, as well as other officials.
President Erdoğan was joined on the flight returning to İstanbul by First Lady Emine Erdoğan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar, Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun and Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın.
