President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit of the League of Arab States at the Presidential Complex.
During the meeting, regional and global issues, as well as the attacks carried out by Israel on Palestinian and Lebanese lands, were discussed.
President Erdoğan stated that Israel is trying to expand the fire of conflict it has ignited in the Middle East to the entire region and that Israel aims to render Palestinians landless in their own homeland. President Erdoğan also noted that Türkiye maintains its efforts through all channels to ensure that the crimes perpetrated by Israel do not remain unpunished and expressed the necessity of the imposition of a comprehensive arms embargo on Israel to increase pressure.
President Erdoğan also stated during the meeting that Türkiye desires the cessation of tensions in Syria, Libya, Somalia, and Ethiopia as soon as possible and the establishment of peace, tranquility, and stability in those regions
