President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Prime Minister Albin Kurti of Kosovo at the Presidential Complex.
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler were also present at the reception, which lasted 1 hour and 50 minutes.
Statement on the Kosovo-Türkiye meeting
During the meeting, Türkiye-Kosovo relations, Israel's attacks on Palestinian territories, as well as regional and global problems were discussed.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan highlighted the significance of increasing the trade volume between Türkiye and Kosovo, with the goal of exceeding 1 billion dollars, which currently stands at nearly 750 million dollars. He also emphasised the potential for additional growth in various sectors, particularly the defence industry.
President Erdoğan expressed Türkiye's commitment to continue supporting Kosovo in all areas. He also mentioned that Kosovo is expected to take action, particularly in the field of counter-terrorism. He noted that the easing of tensions between Kosovo and Serbia is a positive development, but it is crucial to see tangible progress in resolving this matter.
President Erdoğan emphasised the urgent need to address the ongoing violence in Gaza, calling for increased international pressure on Israel, support for the two-state solution, and active assistance to Palestine.
