President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy.
The call addressed Türkiye-Italy relations, Israel’s atrocities in Palestinian territories, and regional and global issues.
President Erdoğan stressed that pressure must be stepped up to stop Israel’s brutal attacks on Palestine and force the Israeli administration to abide by the international law.
President Erdoğan described Türkiye’s priorities as the immediate declaration of permanent ceasefire in Gaza as well as the release of hostages and prisoners and the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
President Erdoğan also expressed his hope that Italy takes a fair stance and stands on the right side of history like Spain, Ireland and Norway by recognizing the State of Palestine.
