President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan.
The call addressed the steps that would enhance the Türkiye-Japan relations, as well as the regional issues, particularly the Russia-Ukraine war.
President Erdoğan noted that it would be beneficial to conclude the Türkiye-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement as soon as possible, and expressed Türkiye’s desire to activate the two countries’ potential for cooperation in the fields of energy, food, agriculture, advanced technology, defense and aerospace industry.
As regards the Russia-Ukraine war, President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye was continuing its efforts with a view to reaching a ceasefire and opening humanitarian corridors.
