President Erdoğan stated during the phone call that he would pay a visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Ibrahim to Malaysia at the earliest opportunity. Noting that the Türkiye-Malaysia relations had been further enhanced on the basis of comprehensive strategic partnership, President Erdoğan voiced Türkiye’s pleasure over the approval given to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for opening a trade office in Malaysia. Underscoring that the relations in the area of defense industry was currently serving as a locomotive, President Erdoğan said that they wanted to finalize as soon as possible the memorandum of understating on the fulfillment of the needs of Malaysia in that area. Also stressing that a joint, determined and strong stance should be taken up against the attacks on the Holy Quran, President Erdoğan stated that the resolutions adopted at the Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation were of importance in that sense. Drawing attention to the importance of FETO being put on the list of terrorist organizations in Malaysia, President Erdoğan pointed out that they as Türkiye expected a strong support from Prime Minister Ibrahim concerning that issue.
