President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Vladimir Putin of Russia.
The call addressed the Türkiye-Russia relations and regional matters including grain export and developments about the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
President Erdoğan conveyed his condolences over the death of Mikhail Gorbachev, the last Soviet Union President.
President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye could play a facilitating role in the Zaporizhzhia NPP issue as it has done in the grain export.
The two leaders reiterated their determination for the construction of the Akkuyu NPP to continue as planned.
President Erdoğan and President Putin of Russia agreed to discuss in detail all these issues and other agenda items during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation's summit in Samarkand on September 15-16.
