President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Emmanuel Macron of France.
The leaders discussed the Türkiye-France bilateral relations, as well as regional and global matters.
President Erdoğan said that it would be beneficial to advance the bilateral relations by seizing opportunities for cooperation in every area, particularly defense industry.
Noting that the process that began with the attacks on Iran has negatively affected the entire world, President Erdoğan stated that the diplomatic efforts supported by Türkiye and the relevant countries have played an important role in the ceasefire process.
Drawing attention to the attacks on Lebanon, President Erdoğan warned against giving any opportunity to attempts at undermining the ceasefire process, and added that Türkiye will continue to provide any contribution in its power to this process.
Stressing the importance of initiating the second phase of the peace plan in Gaza, President Erdoğan stated that the momentum achieved on this issue should be preserved.
The leaders also discussed thoroughly the issue of ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz based on international law, the developments in Syria, the support for the peace process in the Caucasus, and the efforts for lasting peace between Ukraine and Russia and the revitalization of the negotiations.
