President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Emmanuel Macron of France.
The leaders addressed regional and global matters, the conflicts in the region as well as the Türkiye-France bilateral relations.
President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye very closely follows the developments in Iran, feels sorrow for civilian casualties and is worried that they can increase, adding that the spread of the conflicts to our region is unacceptable.
Stressing that the extension of the conflicts in Iran will be a source of instability for both the region and the world, President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye is making intensive efforts for the strengthening of diplomatic foundation and the resumption of negotiations.
Further stating that the conflicts in the region and the world necessitate an increase in defense cooperation among NATO allies, President Erdoğan said that it is important to speed up the joint steps long overdue in defense industry.
