President Erdoğan, President Herzog of Israel talk over phone

During his call with President Isaac Herzog of Israel, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan underscored the importance of not blocking the Palestinians from entering the al-Aqsa Mosque in the month of Ramadan.

Voicing his wish for the momentum, generated in the bilateral relations following Israeli President Herzog's visit to Türkiye, to be maintained, President Erdoğan said that the synergy to be achieved, especially in the field of energy, would serve both countries. The call addressed Türkiye-Israel relations and regional matters.

Condemning the heinous terrorist attacks that recently took place in different cities in Israel, President Erdoğan conveyed his condolences for those who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

President Erdoğan also noted that he regarded the prudent statements by Israel and Palestine to be very valuable in terms of defusing the tension.

Underscoring the importance of not blocking the Palestinians from entering the al-Aqsa Mosque or Israel in the month of Ramadan, President Erdoğan reiterated his expectation that the Israeli authorities continue their sensitivity with regard to keeping the al-Aqsa Mosque open to prayer around the clock in the last ten days of Ramadan, and closing it to visits by non-Muslims.

Wishing for a peaceful Ramadan and Passover, President Erdoğan congratulated President Herzog of Israel and all the Jewish people on Passover.

President Herzog of Israel, for his part, conveyed his congratulations to President Erdoğan on the occasion of the month of Ramadan.
