President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy.
The call addressed the Türkiye-Italy relations, Israeli aggression in the region as well as regional and global matters.
Highlighting the further advancing Türkiye-Italy relations day by day, President Erdoğan noted that the bilateral trade volume can be increased by taking determined steps in numerous spheres, particularly in defense industry.
Stating that Israel has widened the ring of fire in the Middle East by turning a deaf ear to all warnings, President Erdoğan underlined the importance of the international community acting together to stop the Israeli aggression, and said that Italy's support would strengthen Türkiye's initiative at the UN aimed at halting weapons sales to Israel.
Noting that Israeli attacks on the Palestinian territories, including Gaza, as well as on Lebanon and the UN missions are unacceptable, President Erdoğan said that Türkiye welcomed Italy's reaction to Israeli aggression, and that Türkiye will continue to endeavor for peace in the region.
President Erdoğan thanked Prime Minister Meloni for her stance that supports the notion of family and upholds family values in the face of LGBT advocates.
