President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, "Our experiences during both the Nagorno-Karabakh War and the pandemic showed the importance of unity, solidarity, and cooperation of the Turkic world in all fields ranging from defence to diplomacy, health to agriculture, and tourism to energy."
President Erdoğan issued a message on the Meteorological Forum of the Turkic World, also attended by Vice President Fuat Oktay and Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
President Erdoğan expressed his wish that the forum would be auspicious, offered his thanks to Prime Minister Asadov for attending the event, and congratulated the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for leading the forum.
President Erdoğan said, "In the period we left behind as the Turkic world, we suffered the pain caused by losing many people, including our friends and loved ones, due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, in the same period, we felt in our hearts the joy of Nagorno-Karabakh's return to the motherland after 30 years of occupation."
Congratulating the Azerbaijanis on their great victory with their epic struggle that lasted 44 days, President Erdoğan made the following remarks:
"Our experiences during both the Nagorno-Karabakh War and the pandemic showed the importance of unity, solidarity, and cooperation of the Turkic world in all fields ranging from defence to diplomacy, health to agriculture, and tourism to energy. On this occasion, we again saw that we are a big family of 300 million people, who speak the same language, believe in the same religion, and share the same history, the same culture, and the same civilization. As family members, our main responsibility in the upcoming period should be to strengthen these ties and to further improve the cooperation between us. I think the idea of establishing the 'Meteorological Union of the Turkic World' is a valuable step towards this end."
President Erdoğan wished the meeting to be successful.
