President Erdoğan, NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg talk over phone

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

Developments in the Aegean, the Eastern Mediterranean, Libya and Afghanistan, as well as regional issues, the Russia-Ukraine crisis, in particular, were discussed during the phone call.

During the conversation, President Erdoğan stated that thanks to Türkiye's constructive steps and insistent calls, a calm atmosphere prevailed in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean these days.

Underscoring that the new government in Libya should be supported in the areas of defence and security, President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye was making contributions in that regard within the framework of the agreements it had signed.

President Erdoğan further stressed that the support provided to Afghanistan should also be maintained by making use of NATO's means and capabilities as well.

President Erdoğan voiced Türkiye's belief that the Russia-Ukraine crisis should be resolved through dialogue and on the basis of Ukraine's territorial integrity and the Minsk agreements.
