President Erdoğan, NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg talk over phone

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

The call addressed the Russia-Ukraine tension and regional developments. President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye made efforts for the cessation of the Russia-Ukraine tension and acted in such a manner as to ensure de-escalation.

Noting that he had shared with all of his counterparts his view that the crisis would be resolved by peaceful and diplomatic means on the basis of international law and Ukraine's territorial integrity within the framework of the Minsk agreements, President Erdoğan added that he had on various occasions told President Vladimir Putin of Russia and President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine that Türkiye would be pleased to host a leaders' summit or technical talks.

NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg thanked President Erdoğan for his active support and personal initiatives aimed at finding a political solution to the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg also wished a speedy recovery to President Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan, who had tested positive for COVID-19.
