President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Ömer Evrensel and Fatma Evrensel, the father and mother of baby twins Derman and Yiğit, who were born with their heads joined to each other and were brought back to Turkey following an operation performed in London.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan expressed his happiness over the successful operation performed on the babies, conveyed his get well soon wishes to their parents and received information about the babies’ state of health.
Stating that he and First Lady Emine Erdoğan would continue to be there for the babies and the family, as they have always been, President Erdoğan underlined that the state would continue to protect all of its citizens by using every means available.
President Erdoğan invited the couple, Ömer and Fatma Evrensel, to the Presidential Complex along with their sons Derman and Yiğit in the wake of their rehabilitation process.
Derman and Yiğit, the conjoined twins who were born in Antalya two years ago with their heads joined to each other and later separated in a successful operation performed in the United Kingdom under the auspices of President Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan, were brought back to Turkey today by an ambulance aircraft of the Ministry of Health.
