President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with President Ahmad Al-Sharaa of the Syrian Arab Republic on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF2026).
The meeting addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Syria, the latest situation in Syria, and regional issues.
Stating that Syria has taken decisive steps to strengthen its unity and solidarity and to advance reconstruction and development, President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye will continue to stand by Syria in this process.
Emphasizing that Syria should remain away from the conflicts in our region, President Erdoğan stated that increasing cooperation between Türkiye and Syria in all areas, particularly defence, security, trade, energy, and transportation, is important for Syria’s reconstruction efforts.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan added that the smooth and uninterrupted completion of the integration process in northeastern Syria would be beneficial for the entire region.
