President Erdoğan meets with Prime Minister Sharif of Pakistan

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in China for the 25th Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Council of Heads of State, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan.

At the meeting, bilateral relations between Türkiye and Pakistan as well as regional and global issues were discussed. President Erdoğan stated during the meeting that Türkiye and Pakistan were trying to enhance cooperation in many areas, particularly trade, energy, defense industry, and security. Expressing Türkiye’s satisfaction with the development of relations between Pakistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, President Erdoğan noted that the solidarity demonstrated in this regard was appreciated.

President Erdoğan emphasized that Israel sought to expand its policy of genocide in Gaza, underlined that Türkiye stood on the same line with Pakistan against this genocide, and stated that the two countries would continue to work in coordination.

Stressing that Syria’s unity and territorial integrity were indispensable for Türkiye, President Erdoğan underlined that they stood firmly against any attitude and action to destabilize Syria.
