Statement regarding President Erdoğan’s meeting with Prime Minister Carney of Canada

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in Johannesburg, South Africa for the G20 Summit, met with Prime Minister Mark Carney of Canada.

During the meeting, bilateral relations between Türkiye and Canada as well as regional and global issues were discussed.

In the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye is working to enhance cooperation with Canada in all areas and aims to deepen relations in sectors such as trade, energy, technology, and air transportation.

Noting that, as two allies, we wish further to advance defense industry cooperation between Türkiye and Canada, President Erdoğan emphasized that deepening the recently accelerated collaboration in this field would serve our mutual interests.
