President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in Johannesburg, South Africa for the G20 Summit, met with President Emmanuel Macron of France.
The meeting addressed Türkiye–France bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues.
President Erdoğan stated that mutual steps towards developing relations between Türkiye and France are important. Emphasizing the importance of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza and delivering humanitarian aid to the region, President Erdoğan stated that the formula for lasting peace lies in a two-state solution, and that Türkiye is striving to achieve this.
President Erdoğan stated that all diplomatic resources must be utilized to end the war between Ukraine and Russia through a just and lasting peace, and that Türkiye will continue its efforts to bring the warring parties together for peaceful negotiations.
