President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in Astana for the 24th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, met with President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus.
The meeting addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Belarus, the effects of the Ukraine-Russia war as well as regional and global issues.
Stating that there are steps that need to be taken to stop the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, President Erdoğan expressed his belief that the war can be stopped if a robust basis for peace is established.
Emphasizing that Türkiye will continue to strive for peace, President Erdoğan added that sincere talks with both parties on this issue will continue.
