President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in China for the 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), met with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, bilateral relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, as well as regional and global matters, were discussed.
In the meeting, President Erdoğan underscored the importance of Türkiye and Azerbaijan shaping their regional development initiatives in coordination in the period ahead.
President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye and Azerbaijan will continue to take steps to develop cooperation in many fields, particularly in energy and transportation.
Voicing his satisfaction with the progress of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye will persist in contributing to the process.
