President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Chancellor Friedrich Merz of Germany on the sidelines of the 6th meeting of the European Political Community in the Albanian capital of Tirana.
The meeting addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Germany, as well as regional and global developments.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye and Germany have deep-rooted and multidimensional relations and that the two countries will work to advance their cooperation in the coming period.
President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye will persist in giving its utmost effort to ensure that the war between Ukraine and Russia ends with a fair and lasting peace, and that efforts for peace should be increased, not letting the window of opportunity be missed.
President Erdoğan invited German Chancellor Merz to Türkiye, and the German Chancellor agreed to visit as soon as possible.
