President Erdoğan joins a cultural tour in Turkestan

Prior to the Informal Summit of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS), President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and the Sapar Tourism Centre in Turkestan.

Arriving in the city of Turkestan in Kazakhstan to attend the Informal Summit of the OTS, President Erdoğan joined the cultural tour programme with President Kassym Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan and President Tufan Erhürman of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

At the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yesevi, President Erdoğan and the accompanying leader greeted the local and foreign tourists who had welcomed them with applause at the mausoleum's entrance.

Examining the work of calligrapher Ahmed Karahisari, President Erdoğan noted that the original of it is housed in the Topkapı Palace.

The leaders said prayers at Yesevi's grave.

President Erdoğan and the accompanying leaders then proceeded to the Sapar Tourism Centre, where they received information about the exhibits on display.
