Visiting a tent city set up for earthquake victims in Kahramanmaraş, President Erdoğan inspected the ongoing search and rescue, as well as relief efforts in the province.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech following the inspections.
Noting that the Kahramanmaraş-epicentered earthquake hit 10 provinces, President Erdoğan stressed that the country is faced with a massive disaster.
Announcing the number of people who have lost their lives as 8,574 and the number of injured as 49,133, President Erdoğan added that 6,444 buildings collapsed due to the earthquake.
Pointing out that the state has mobilized all its means and resources, President Erdoğan added that relevant works are being carried out in solidarity with municipalities under the coordination of the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
