President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is on an official visit to Qatar to attend the 9th meeting of the Türkiye-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee.
President Erdoğan left for Qatar at 13:00 at the invitation of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar to attend the meeting to be held on December 4-5 .
President Erdoğan was seen off at Atatürk Airport by AK Party Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala, İstanbul Governor Davut Gül, AK Party İstanbul Provincial Chairman Osman Nuri Kabaktepe and other officials.
President Erdoğan is accompanied by First Lady Emine Erdoğan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Minister of Industry and Trade Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat and Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun on his visit to Doha.
President Erdoğan to attend the 44th Summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council as well
All aspects of Türkiye-Qatar relations will be reviewed, and means to further deepen cooperation between the two countries in various areas will be addressed at the Supreme Strategic Committee Meeting.
Besides bilateral relations, views on regional and global matters, particularly Israel’s attacks taking place in the occupied Palestinian lands as well as Gaza, are expected to be exchanged during the talks to be held with Qatar, our strategic partner.
On the occasion of the Committee meeting, several agreements and memorandums of understanding that would make significant contributions to the contractual basis of bilateral relations are planned to be signed as well.
As part of the visit, President Erdoğan will also attend the 44th Summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council to be held on December 5, Tuesday, at the invitation Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim made in his capacity as term chair.
