President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a message to Gendarmerie General Commander Gen. Arif Çetin on the 180th anniversary of the Gendarmerie General Command’s foundation on June 14.
President Erdoğan’s message reads as follows:
"I congratulate the foundation anniversary of the heroic Gendarmerie General Command that serves relentlessly and gives no respite to crimes and criminals on multiple fronts from counter-terrorism to public order, and from tackling irregular migration to traffic safety.
As one of the most deeply-rooted institutions of our state, the Gendarmerie General Command fulfills its civilian, judicial and security duties with the utmost sense of duty, and plays an essential role in ensuring the peace and welfare of our citizens.
Gendarmerie General Command makes our nation proud with all national and international missions it undertakes thanks to its qualified, educated, courageous and talented personnel, and its modernization efforts to enhance service quality and prepare dynamically for the future.
On the foundation anniversary of Gendarmerie General Command, which continues to work in collaboration with our nation for our country’s security, for maintaining order and ensuring peace for our people, I commemorate our glorious martyrs with mercy and gratitude and convey my greetings and regards to the successful members of the Gendarmerie General Command.
