President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his condolences during a phone call with Yusuf al-Qaradawi's son, Abdul Rahman Yusuf, over the passing of the former president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Yusuf al-Qaradawi.
During a phone call with Abdul Rahman Yusuf, President Erdoğan wished Allah’s mercy upon Yusuf al-Qaradawi and expressed his condolences to his family.
Stating that the late Yusuf al-Qaradawi was the best example of how to live as a Muslim throughout his life since he did not compromise his beliefs, President Erdoğan said, "May Allah reward him with paradise and have mercy upon him."
In addition to expressing his gratitude to President Erdoğan, Abdul Rahman Yusuf said a programme of condolences would be held in Istanbul the following week.
