President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated the British team Manchester City, which won the trophy after defeating the Italian team Inter 1-0 in the 2023 UEFA Champions League final played in Istanbul.
After watching the 2023 Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter at Atatürk Olympic Stadium with the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Erdoğan shared a post on his social media account.
In the post he shared, President Erdoğan said, “I congratulate Manchester City on their victory in the finals of Champions League, one of the world's greatest sporting events, held at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, hosted by Istanbul, the cradle of civilisations and the apple of Türkiye's eye. I would like to thank everyone who once again demonstrated Türkiye's hospitality and contributed to making this great organisation peaceful and successful.”
