President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated Diyarbakır mothers on March 8, International Women's Day as they continued their guard for their children in front of the HDP Provincial Building with the hope of reuniting with their children.
On the occasion of International Women's Day, AK Party Diyarbakır Deputies came together with the mothers who are staging a sit-in protest in front of the HDP Provincial Building at the Metropolitan Teachers' House.
During the meeting which was attended by AK Party Deputies Ebubekir Bal and Oya Eronat, AK Party Deputy Mehdi Eker called President Erdoğan, and he talked to the mothers over the phone.
President Erdoğan congratulated the Diyarbakır mothers for the blessed struggle they have given for more than 6 months and said:
“You have experienced a different suffering over the last 6 months as mothers, whose children were ripped out of your arms. You have patiently endured this suffering. Besides, your very serious resistance has placed you in the records of history.
We have not seen those who say they advocate human rights throughout the world come to Diyarbakır, but you have taken a tough stance and maintained your noble attitude. In this process, the children began to come one by one with God’s permission. We hope that all mothers and fathers will reunite with their children as soon as possible. I congratulate you. May God bless and help you.”
